Available for adoption

Manny (WW's Best Man)

Four year old Manny is an absolute sweet heart. He adores people, and is cat correctable and small dog safe.

Manny loves a good run in the yard, and will absolutely need a laid back, non dominant canine buddy.

Manny does however have a huge fear of change, and will need a committed and experienced person/people to help him build confidence and overcome it. He has shown separation anxiety, so another dog,and people around a lot of the time is a must.

He is a beautiful, happy boy, that just needs to know that he is safe.

Manny has shown stress when in the vehicle, and will need time and patience to manage and overcome it.  He has not shown any motion sickness.

Manny has never shown aggression towards anyone, but will stand up for himself if another tries to bully him.

Manny had a long and illustrious racing career, and is so ready to find his forever home.

Rob (Ale Rob)

The picture does not do Rob justice.

With his gleaming black coat, and tall and muscular physique, 4 year old Rob is gorgeous.

Rob is very laid back and congenial. He loves people, and is surprisingly outgoing with them.

Rob enjoys romping in the yard with the other Greys, but also loves his snooze time.

Rob will need a decent sized fenced yard, and a canine companion that would enjoy a good run.

We are in the process of cat and small dog testing of all our hounds, but at this time we feel Rob will likely be fine with supervision.

Rob had a long and distinguished racing career, and is loving retirement.

Denali (DS Denali)

Almost three year old(May) Denali is a very interesting character. He is very quiet, very easy going, and enjoys being with people, and rarely barks. He is alert, and watches all the goings on around him with keen interest. This is one smart boy.

Denali really shines when outside, and although he enjoys play time with the other Greys, he really loves being with his person. He loves walks, and does great in the car.

Denali can be dominant with the other Greys, and would do fine with another female Grey, or a laid back male Greyhound. Denali does enjoy the company of other laid back Greys, but he absolutely cannot abide cats, small dogs, and possibly dogs of another breed. He is, however, very loyal to his people, and will also do well with an active lifestyle. He may be fine as an only dog if his people are not gone long hours.

Beamer (Dujos BMW)

Beamer is a rocket.

Since we got his hypothyroidism under control, he cannot stop running and playing. He growls while running, showing his excitement.

Beamer has never shown aggression towards another dog or human, but playtime with him can be overwhelming for another dog because he is so exuberant.

Beamer does everything at 100mph, although he does settle nicely once he has worn off some of that energy.

Beamer is a big boy, and is absolutely gorgeous. He is loving, and very sweet.

This young two year old boy will need  a like minded easy going buddy whether it be Greyhound or another large breed, that can keep up with him.  He may also do fine with small dogs and cats.Testing is underway.

Beamer will do best with someone who is not gone long hours. He would thrive on an active lifestyle, possibly even as a jogging partner.

Keeper (Keeper Dapper)

Two year old Keeper is the youngest Grey in our midst, and he is a darling.

This baby adores people, is laid back and easy going, yet loves a good run with the other Greys in the yard. He is curious about everything, and so sweet.

For such a young guy he is confident, and very composed.

Keeper will do best with people who work from home, or are not gone long hours, as he had not done well in his previous foster home when people were gone a full work day. He will need a non dominant canine buddy that enjoys running and playing, and an active lifestyle.

Keeper is next in line to be cat/small dog tested, but at this time we feel he can likely live with both.

Keeper has shown some stress in the vehicle, and has had episodes of vomiting, so will need some time and patience to overcome this.

He is a stellar dog that will make someone very happy.

Jack

ADOPTED!

Jack came to us from the Ohio Lurcher Project, and this poor guy has been through hell.
He was 15 pounds underweight, with badly dislocated toes on his left front foot. One toe was missing all together, as was half of his tail. After surgery, Jack can now walk and run, and is really enjoying life.
Jack was used as a field trial racer, on the underground racing circuit, and when he was no longer wanted he was abandoned in Indiana.Considering the first part of his life, Jack is the sweetest, nicest boy you could ever imagine. He loves attention and affection, and will press his body in for
more. He is easy to handle on leash, and is great in the car.He is a smaller boy, and he is thought to be around 5 years old. Jack will make someone a fantastic pet.

Chanel

Chanel is not adopted through us, and was one of four pups brought down from Airdrie, Alberta.

She is Shoko and Zack’s sister, and also a Lurcher,  a Greyhound crossed with what we believe to be Irish Wolfhound and bred for hunting.

Chanel does not show the longer wiry coat that is characteristic of an Irish Wolfhound, but two of her siblings do, so we are quite certain we have the correct  breed.

Chanel is a slip of a girl, weighing under 60 pounds, but quite tall at 28 inches at the shoulder. She also has the very desirable white with blue markings, making her absolutely stunning.

Chanel’s beauty and sweetness with people aside, she is no pushover with other dogs, and is not afraid to mix it up even with dogs much larger than she is. She can be quite bossy at times, and will let another dog know in no uncertain terms if she feels they are getting too familiar. She does, however, adore her brother, Zack, and another male and female Lurcher in the household.

She is quite an independent girl, but does enjoy the company of her people, and of course, select other dogs.

Chanel has lived with cats, and may also be fine with some small dogs that are not in her face.

She has exhibited separation anxiety, so will need someone around a good deal of the time, even if she has another dog for company.

Breeze Beezie

Beezie is not adopted through us, and is a Lurcher, a Greyhound usually crossed with another sight hound breed. She originally came from Saskatchewan, from a less than desirable situation.

We are not certain what Beezie is crossed with, but she is an absolute doll, who loves people, and does well with other dogs that like to run and play.

Beezie came to us with a serious skin issue, that has taken long term treatment to clear up. Beezie is still on two different medications for her skin, as well as thyroid medication. Soloxine is an inexpensive drug, given twice daily for life.

We are hopeful that eventually Beezie can be off the prednisone and antibiotic that she takes for her skin, but in the meantime will need a home where her people are fully committed to making sure she gets her medications in a timely fashion.

Beezie does love the other Greyhounds, and enjoys a good romp in the yard with them, but being a little older(5)she is quite settled and very easy going.

She is great in the car, and loves to go for car rides and walks. She loves being with her person/people.

Beezie is one of those dogs that smiles showing her teeth. She loves life, and has never met a stranger.

Because of an unfortunate set of circumstances in her previous home,  a six foot fence will be a requirement for her adoption.

Beezie has not been tested with cats yet, but may be able to live with a smaller laid back, non dominant dog, with supervision.
